This is the latest in a series (of indefinite length and regularity) of blog posts memorializing cancelled toys. Our figure today is DC Direct's DCeased line.
Last month we finished up looking at all the DC Comics figures Mattel left unreleased when their license expired, and right after that it was announced DC Direct would be shutting down entirely. There aren't a ton of figures left on the chopping block (more statues than toys are being cancelled), but one thing we will be losing is the zombified "DCeased" figures.
Series 1 was Superman, Batman, Harley, and Joker; Series 2 was Supergirl, Aquaman, Green Lantern, and Flash; and Series 3 (shown unpainted at Toy Fair 2020) would have been Batgirl, Deathstroke, Nightwing, and Red Hood.
Early packaged samples of Series 1 have made their way out to some press outlets, so there's a slim chance those may show up at your local comicshop - if you preordered them - but in all likelihood these zombies are all on their way to the grave.
