The weirdest thing? That kind of shellforming issue generally seems to affect toys of Arcee. I get that they wanna make her kind of curvy, but other female Transformers don't seem to have that much of a problem.
Like, Generations Windblade? She was definitely female based on her body shape, but she wasn't a shellformer. Power of the Primes Flareup and Moonracer, Siege Chromia? They all have a definite feminine body shape but their backpack issues are nowhere near as bad as Earthrise Arcee or Cyberverse Adventures Arcee. Both of those latter toys were pretty frustrating to transform, and weren't even that fun to transform to boot.
