One Response to Transformers Bumblebee: Studio Series Ironhide addendum

I want to preface this by mentioning that as much as I hate the live action Transformers films (except Bumblebee), I don't hate Michael Bay himself since from what I know of him in his own way he genuinely does love Transformers and enjoys making the films. Plus, as far as I'm aware he doesn't take the "let's troll/mock fans of the franchise we're working on and pretend that's "engagement"!" tack that a lot of comic writers, tv show writers and directors seem to take nowadays.

But, man, oh, man, I would love to know how that first Transformers film Bay directed would've looked had the designs for the Transformers looked like this instead. I can understand him feeling the G1 designs were too "blocky" and wouldn't look good on-screen (because as director that's certainly his prerogative), and I understand the logic behind some designs (e.g. Optimus being a long-nose cab because that provides more mass for robot mode, Starscream having bird-like legs and being very wide to avoid towering over the rest of the cast), but I feel I would've greatly enjoyed the actions scenes a lot more.
