Soon Forget: Darkstalkers Jedah Dohma

This is the latest in a series (of indefinite length and regularity) of blog posts memorializing cancelled toys. We continue our look at SOTA's planned Darkstalkers line with the demon Jedah Dohma.

The first Darkstalkers game introduced the fighting monsters, while the second brought in hunters who wanted to eliminate them. For the third entry in the series, the developers needed an enemy who could be a threat to both sides at once. Jedah is basically this world's version of the Grim Reaper, which is why his "wings" are shaped like blades (the ones on his head are a reference to Go Nagai's Devilman).

While Ankaris was seemingly the first figure cancelled, Jedah is at the other end of the spectrum, being the last one created. When the planned revamped line was shown off in 2007, he was still early enough in production that all we were shown was the wax sculpt, without any paint on it.
