GI Joe and the Transformers #7

Posted on August 16, 2013 by OAFE

In today's review of the Jetfire Skystriker set, we said that the packaging was styled like a comicbook, pretending that the GI Joe and the Transformers comic ran for more than four issues. And just like last year, we wanted … Continue reading →

Posted on August 15, 2013 by Rustin Parr

So we've spent a couple weeks looking at my haul from San Diego Comic Con 2013, now it's time to get to the GOOD STUFF - the exclusives! These are pretty much 80% of why I keep going and subjecting … Continue reading →

Rustin's Spoils of the Week #105

Posted on August 7, 2013 by Rustin Parr

I am in a constant battle to save money, and while I probably spent less on non-exclusives this year than in the past five, I still couldn't help but buy many a toy. Part of the fun of conventions, like … Continue reading →

Rustin's Spoils of the Week #104

Posted on August 1, 2013 by Rustin Parr

Comic Con 2013 - a more wretched hive of toys and collectibles you'd be hard pressed to find. I did my best to "spend wisely" as money is an ever-decreasing excess of mine, but despite that intent I still loaded … Continue reading →

Soon Forget: DeviA.N.T.s

Posted on July 27, 2013 by OAFE

This is the latest in a series (of indefinite length and regularity) of blog posts memorializing cancelled toys. Our figure today is Hyperchild's DeviANTS line. Remember the DeviANTs? The large vinyl figures that debuted at Comic-Con International in 2003? There … Continue reading →

After little more than four hours of sleep it was time to finish packing up the multitude of purchases, load up the old Rustin-mobile and get down to the Convention Center before parking disappeared. Turns out I didn't need to … Continue reading →

SDCC 2013 - Day 4: Saturday 7/20

Posted on July 21, 2013 by Rustin Parr

What a morning - I walked in to see nothing but an "End of Line" sign at the Hasbro ticket distribution table. I was able to walk right up and get a ticket with absolutely zero wait! Before I left … Continue reading →

SDCC 2013 - Day 3: Friday 7/19

Posted on July 20, 2013 by Rustin Parr

Today I had an epiphany. It's nothing terrible ground-shaking but it was that simple precipice between saying something and meaning it. The toy exclusives have ruined Comic Con. And now, some more OAFEry:Albino Predator addendum

SDCC 2013 - Day 2: Thursday 7/18

Posted on July 19, 2013 by Rustin Parr

The first day, proper, of the Con began not dissimilar to the previous one. I'd misjudged my arrival time and between a late departure and a rockin' hunt for parking I made it to the Convention Center at about 9:00am … Continue reading →

SDCC 2013 - Day 1: Wednesday 7/17

Posted on July 18, 2013 by Rustin Parr

This was the roughest start to the Comic-Con International in San Diego I've yet to endure. The previous nine days I was working on the east the coast and only returned home Wednesday morning at 12:00am. Surprisingly, twelve hours was … Continue reading →
