Optimus Prime + Jetfire = unexpected awesomeness

So in the new Transformers movie, Optimus Prime combines with Jetstorm Jetfire, gaining the ability to fly. Many fans thought this was a reference to the similar combination in Armada - which it might have been, but it's equally likely to have been a nod to Powermaster Optimus Prime and the Apex Armor.

Anyway, the idea of Prime and Jetfire combining has been stirred up lately, which is why we thought we'd share this:

That's totally legit: it's just the Classics versions of Optimus Prime (or Ultra Magnus for this photo, because that's what we had on hand) and Jetfire, transformed slightly differently and jammed together. The idea has been around for a while, but it's really blown up in the last few weeks. If you have these guys, any version of the molds, you can do this yourself. Pretty damn cool, huh?
